Every number has a path. Tracey shows it.

Column-level data lineage and impact analysis across your databases, ETL processes and reports, gathered into one map you can click through.

The tour

Tracey in 50 seconds

From a single figure on a report back to the database column it started in, and forward to everything a change would touch.

One map

All your systems, one lineage graph

Data rarely stays in one tool. It is loaded by an ETL job, reshaped in the warehouse, modelled in a semantic layer and shown in a report. Each tool knows only its own piece. Tracey reads them all and joins the pieces into one continuous path.

Databases

Tables, views, synonyms and the SQL inside procedures, packages, functions and triggers.

ETL & orchestration

Data flows, sessions, dbt models, DAGs and jobs, with the order in which they run.

BI & reporting

Universes, semantic models, measures and the report fields built on them.

One shared picture of how data moves

A report field, the DAX measure behind it, the warehouse column it reads and the ETL step that loaded it appear as one connected graph, with every node labelled by the system it came from.

All major databases, ETL and BI platforms are supported, and the connector architecture is open: new sources plug in as connectors and join the same graph. Databases can be read live, from a catalog export file or from DDL scripts, so Tracey also covers systems it cannot reach directly.

See what happens to the data at every step

Lineage shows where a value goes. Tracey also shows how it changes on the way: the expression that computes it, the filters and joins that decide which rows get through, and the exact line of code where it happens.

  • Calculations in SQL, PL/SQL, data flows and DAX
  • Filters and joins that select the rows
  • Aggregations in universes and semantic models
  • The source line in the procedure, view or job

Data governance

Lineage is the backbone of data governance

Policies, glossaries and ownership only work when you can see where data actually goes. Tracey gives governance teams that view, built from the real code, so it stays current.

“Where does this number come from?”

Trust in every figure

Follow any report field back through models, warehouse and ETL to the source column, with the SQL statement and line at every step.

“What breaks if I change this?”

Change with confidence

Before a column is renamed or a load is rewritten, see every view, data flow, model and report downstream of it.

“Can you prove it?”

Audit and compliance

Show regulators and auditors the documented path of sensitive or reported data, end to end, across systems.

How it works & deployment

Up and running quickly, wherever you need it

Install Tracey on premises, on a workstation or a shared server in your own network, or run it in the cloud. Wherever it runs, it works the same way and reads only metadata.

01 · Connect

Add your sources

Add a connector for each database, ETL repository or BI platform, or upload exported files. No client software or drivers to install.

02 · Scan

Tracey reads the code

It reads catalogue metadata and source code and analyses every statement down to the column. Rescans take seconds when little has changed.

03 · Explore

Ask in both directions

Pick any table or column and walk upstream for lineage or downstream for impact, down to the source line.

  • No business data is read. Only catalogue metadata and source code.
  • Nothing is changed. Tracey never runs loads, creates objects or edits code.
  • Fully offline on premises. Installed locally, Tracey needs no internet connection.
  • Your data stays with you. A local snapshot you can back up, query or remove.
